Tom Hiddleston to Star in Ben Wheatley’s Adaptation of High-Rise

A Field in England and Kill List director Ben Wheatley hopped on his Twitter account to reveal that his adaptation of High-Rise will star Tom Hiddleston! He accompanied the post with some very cool artwork (seen below).

High-Rise is Wheatley’s next project once he has wrapped directing duties on “Doctor Who. Filming will start this June from a script by Amy Jump. Jeremy Thomas will produce.

Published in 1975, J.G. Ballard’s novel is described as follows: When a class war erupts inside a luxurious apartment block, modern elevators become violent battlegrounds and cocktail parties degenerate into marauding attacks on “enemy” floors. In this visionary tale, human society slips into violent reverse as once-peaceful residents, driven by primal urges, re-create a world ruled by the laws of the jungle.

Hiddleston, of course, is best known as the co-star of the “Thor” films and Marvel’s The Avengers. He’ll next be seen in the vampire film Only Lovers Left Alive.
