Evan Peters Describes Quicksilver’s Look in X-Men: Days of Future Past

Ever since it was revealed back in May that both Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past and Joss Whedon’s Avengers: Age of Ultron are to feature dueling versions of Marvel Comics’ Pietro Maximoff, aka Quicksilver, fans have been wondering exactly what approach each film will take with the character. Today, io9 has an update straight from the former’s Evan Peters, who will be playing the Quicksilver role in the May 23, 2014 release.

“Yes,” Peters says when asked if he’s going to be seen on the big screen with the silver hair of his comic book alter ego, “Yeah. Yeah, it’s cool.”

Peters goes on to say that Quicksilver will, at least in part, be dressed in civilian clothing, including 1970’s jeans and “a pretty sweet jacket”. He also spoke a bit about Singer’s innovative approach to capturing Quicksilver’s super-speed on film.

“It’s quite a big room,” he says of the stage designed to film in slow-motion. “It’s super, super, super, super slomo. You can see raindrops frozen in the air. Stuff like that. It’s amazing how that camera works… You don’t do anything differently other than try to keep your eyes open in the bright light. And try to make it look cool, I guess.”

Ian McKellen, Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Halle Berry, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing and Boo Boo Stewart also star in the mutant ensemble.
