The Editor Trailer: Scream Factory Releases A Mad Giallo Parody

A world premiere at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival, Adam Brooks and Matthew Kennedy’s giallo homage/parody The Editor hits the U.S. via Scream Factory this fall. As the cult label moves into the distribution of some newer films, as well as their continued releasing of classic and cult titles, check out the official trailer for this madcap take on the beloved Euro subgenre.

In The Editor, Brooks and Kennedy (of Canadian collective Astron-6) go completely bonkers. From the perfect pastiche of the black-gloved genre; to taking its absurd tendencies even higher; to going off into hallucinatory spaces, The Editor is a film for a very specific crowd. Are you among it?

In the film, “Rey Ciso (Adam Brooks) was once the greatest editor the world had ever seen. Since a horrific accident left him with four wooden fingers on his right hand, he’s had to resort to cutting pulp films and trash pictures. When the lead actors from the film he’s been editing turn up murdered at the studio, Rey is fingered as the number one suspect. The bodies continue to pile up in this absurdist giallo-thriller as Rey struggles to prove his innocence and learn the sinister truth lurking behind the scenes.”

The Editor is on DVD & Blu this September 8th and features Audio Commentary, a doc, featurettes and deleted scenes.
