Toxic Avenger Musical Hits The Road

National tour kicks off in fall 2010

The Toxic Avenger musical based on Troma’s most famous (or infamous) movie is gearing up to hit the road!

Variety reports that the off Broadway show will kick off a national tour in the Fall of 2010.

The show kicked off last year at the George Street Playhouse in New Jersey and has continued to play at Gotham’s New World Stages for the last six months.

Producers Jean Cheever and Tom Polum have signed a deal with booking agency On the Road to handle the upcoming tour.

Bon Jovi’s David Bryan composed the new music for the musical with book and lyrics by Joe DiPietro.

The Toxic Avenger musical is of course based on the 1984 cult classic directed by Troma president Lloyd Kaufman, which went on to spawn 3 sequels, an animated cartoon, comic books and more.

Dates and tour stops are yet to be determined but we’ll keep you posted!
