Greek Wedding meets Shaun of the Dead
Bend It Like Beckham director Gurinder Chadha will direct the horror-comedy It’s a Wonderful Afterlife. Her husband Paul Berges will co-write.
Budgeted at $10 million and now casting, Afterlife “follows a British-Asian mother whose obsession to marry off her daughter comically leads to serial murder.” Chadha describes the film as My Big Fat Greek Wedding meets Shaun of the Dead.
She adds it is horror, however, “the gore will be easy on the eye.”
HanWay Films is handling international sales at the American Film Market which kicks off tomorrow.
