Writers Want to Reopen Body Bags

To explore idea as anthology series

Writer Dan Angel and Billy Brown got a jones for anthology storytelling. The pair, who recently penned R.L. Stine’s The Haunting Hour: Don’t Think About It, have their fingers crossed that an anthology series based on Body Bags, a collection of macabre tales told under the “John Carpenter presents” banner, will arrive in the near future. Angel and Brown were writers on the 1993 feature.

Here’s an excerpt from a recent interview with the pair at IF Magazine:

ANGEL: BODY BAGS was our first creation and we were excited when John Carpenter bought the property years back. We are in talks with John about expanding the movie into a TV series and will know shortly if it’s going to happen.

BROWN: I’d love to bring back BODY BAGS. Dan and my brain are full of twisted creepy stories that would work for that project. I’m not sure about John coming back as the coroner, but he’d certainly be welcome.

Another project on their plate is Shock Treatment, another series geared towards adults with Tobin Bell (of the “Saw” series) acting as the storyteller. For more details on that, click here!
