Sony Heads to the Outpost

Acquires distro rights to UK war-horror film

Sony Pictures recently acquired the U.S. distribution rights to the UK war-horror flick Outpost. Shooting began and wrapped on the Steve Barker-directed pic earlier this year for Black Camel Pictures and ContentFilm.

Sounding like a companion piece to few other genre parables that blend the supernatural with the cold realities of war – The Keep, The Bunker and Deathwatch come to mind – Outpost follows a group of mercenaries who were hired by a wealthy businessman to find a disused WWII bunker. Once they get there they find a wealth of nasty abandoned Nazi experiments and…something that is still alive. This is writer Rae Brunton’s first feature to be produced.

Ray Stevenson (“Rome”) toplines the ensemble cast that also includes Richard Brake (Hannibal Rising) and Michael Smiley (Perfume: The Story of a Murderer). More pics (like the one you see on the left) can be found here.
