Dorothy, Blanche, Rose, and Sophia are the four mismatched Miami housemates who look out for one another no matter what misadventures come their way. It’s a season filled with romance, dating catastrophes, one wedding, and more Elvis impersonators than you can shake a stick at. Now you can experience every hilarious episode from this unforgettable year on this complete DVD set. Enjoy special appearances by guest stars Bob Hope, Julio Iglesias, and Quentin Tarantino. It’s comedy that’s pure gold.”

This DVD is rated TV-PG.

Mini-Review:
Buena Vista offers up yet another season of the Golden Girls. Die-hard fans of the series can expect more of the same from the previous seasons. This particular season did have a couple of notable guest stars. Most notable is Bob Hope in a brief role as himself. Julio Iglesias also briefly appears to pay off a running joke involving Sophia. But the most hyped guest appearance is one by Quentin Tarantino as an Elvis impersonator. They go so far as to advertise it with a big sticker on the cover of the DVD. However, upon watching it, you find that Tarantino was nothing more than an extra at the back of a group of other extra Elvis impersonators. (He’s even blocked by other guys for a significant portion of it.) His appearance is extremely brief and he’s honestly not that great of an Elvis.

There are no real bonus features to speak of other than a short entitled “Top 10 Guest Stars From Season Four”. It’s just a series of clips of the various guest stars from the season. It’s kind of a silly bonus feature considering most people will have watched the episodes and seen the cameos anyway. I guess it’s the effort that counts.
