Dawn of the Dead Stays Alive

Dawn of the Dead sold more than 2 million combined DVD and VHS units during its first week in release and was the nation’s best-selling DVD for the week ending Oct. 31, says The Hollywood Reporter. The horror remake sold more than 1 million combined DVD and VHS units during its first day in release Oct. 26.

The nation’s top rental choice was White Chicks, generating about $10.55 million in consumer rental spending during its first five days in release. Director Keenen Ivory Wayans’ comedy was also the second best-selling DVD during the same frame.
