Drew McIntyre Eyes World Title Match at WWE Clash At The Castle: Scotland

Former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Drew McIntyre is looking to have his highly anticipated match at WWE Clash at The Castle: Scotland. McIntyre wants to have a moment by winning the WWE World title in front of fans. He had his previous two title reigns during the pandemic. At WWE WrestleMania 40, McIntyre finally had his moment and won the title in front of fans.

Drew McIntyre’s moment lasted only five minutes. After defeating Seth Rollins for the title at WWE WrestleMania 40. McIntyre went to the commentary area where CM Punk was sitting and decided to taunt him. This led to Punk attacking McIntyre. Money in the Bank holder Damian Priest seized the opportunity to cash in his contract on McIntyre, winning the title.

Following the loss, Drew McIntyre did not receive a rematch clause and was instead put into a number one contender match. However, Priest promised McIntyre a rematch on the May 13 episode of Raw. While the match location hasn’t been announced yet, McIntyre has an idea.

In an interview with PW Insider, McIntyre expressed his hope that the match will take place at WWE Clash At The Castle: Scotland. He stated, “I would love to have that title match if he [Priest] is still the champion in Scotland and finally have that moment with the title and actually keep the title. I could never have imagined it could potentially be in Glasgow. That’s my dream scenario.”

He contiuned, “This is something beyond a dream, you know, I talked about for years… I’ve been asking since the day I was in WWE and I always heard the logistics excuse, this and this, then suddenly we’re doing shows all across the world places like Australia, they’ve got the craziest time difference.”

Drew McIntyre vs. Damian Priest rumored for WWE Clash at the Castle: Scotland

Drew McIntyre, who wishes to face Damian Priest in his home country of Scotland, appears to have his plans in the works. According to wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer, the match between Priest and McIntyre is slated for WWE Clash at The Castle: Scotland. McIntyre is currently out with an elbow injury. However, he is expected to be fine by WWE Clash at The Castle: Scotland, scheduled for June 15 in Glasgow, Scotland.

It will be interesting to see how WWE plans this feud for McIntyre. In 2022, he lost a major match against Roman Reigns in the UK for the title. Will this be the same fate once again, or can McIntyre have his moment in front of his home fans? Only time will tell.
