Gunther, who was set to face Kofi Kingston, managed to defeat Kingston and advance to the semi-finals of the tournament.
Gunther, having reached the semi-finals, was set to face the winner of the match between Jey Uso and Ilja Dragunov. Before the match, Gunther had a confrontation with Dragunov backstage. Although WWE teased a potential match between Gunther and Dragunov, the main event of the show saw Jey defeating Ilja Dragunov.
After the conclusion of the show, Gunther came down the ramp and confronted Jey Uso. A fan’s video footage has now surfaced on social media, revealing the events that unfolded between Jey Uso and Gunther after WWE RAW ended. Jey Uso, amidst celebrating his victory with fans, found Gunther standing in the ring. Engaging with the audience, Jey called on the referee and ring announcer, Samantha Irvin, to join in the YEET chants.
Subsequently, Jey shifted his focus to Gunther, who was in the ring. Gunther also teased participating in the chants but ultimately initiated an attack on Jey. However, the situation swiftly reversed as Gunther attempted to strike Jey, only for Jey to evade and deliver a powerful spear to Gunther.
