Bobby Lashley Pulled From WWE King of the Ring Tournament

Bobby Lashley, who was poised to participate in the WWE King of the Ring tournament, has received unfortunate news. Lashley secured a major win at WWE WrestleMania 40 with his partner, The Street Profits. Post his victory, the former WWE champion was announced for the 2024 King of the Ring Tournament.

In the upcoming WWE SmackDown, the first-round qualifiers for the tournament will be featured. Bobby Lashley was scheduled to compete against The Bloodline’s Tama Tonga in the first round. The blue brand is gearing up for the King of the Tournament, which includes participants like Randy Orton, AJ Styles, Baron Corbin, and others.

However, WWE SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis announced the unfortunate news of Bobby Lashley being pulled from the tournament. Aldis shared a video on X (formerly Twitter), stating that Lashley has been removed from the tournament due to not being cleared to compete.

Moreover, Aldis disclosed that Bobby Lashley will be replaced by his faction member Angelo Dawkins in the tournament. As the first-round qualifiers for the tournament kick-off on WWE SmackDown, the latest edition of WWE RAW showcased the winners of the first round, including Jey Uso, Ilja Dragunov, and Gunther. Furthermore, the winner between Rey Mysterio and Kofi Kingston will be determined at a WWE live event this weekend.

Angelo Dawkins replaces Bobby Lashley in WWE King of the Ring

Angelo Dawkins has been competing in the tag team division since his main roster debut. He has won the tag team championship many times with his partner, Montez Ford. Last year, Bobby Lashley took both Dawkins and Ford under his wing and formed a faction called The Pride.

Although Bobby Lashley is not cleared to compete in the upcoming episode of WWE SmackDown, one of his faction members, Angelo Dawkins, will be stepping up to face Tama Tonga in the first round of the King of the Ring tournament.
