Former WWE NXT Champion Lyra Valkyria has shared advice she received from top WWE women’s superstar Becky Lynch. Last year, WWE NXT fans witnessed Lynch’s appearance on the black and yellow brand. During her few months in NXT, Lynch captured the Women’s Championship and defended it several times. However, Lyra Valkyria defeated Lynch at the WWE NXT Halloween Havoc for the title.
During an interview with TVInsider, Lyra Valkyria discussed her bond with the current WWE Women’s World Champion, Becky Lynch. She stated, “I only met her a little down the line in my career. It has been so incredible to have that person to look toward who grew up down the road from me. An Irish girl who has come so far is just crazy. To come from a place like Ireland, a lot of people don’t have that person they can look up to. So to see what is possible through her and how far one can go is incredible.”
Additionally, Valkyria discussed the guidance she got from Becky Lynch. She expressed, “She told me to just be myself and have a lot of trust in what I bring, and I think it’s so clear she has been herself her entire career. That is what has taken her so far. I find that incredibly motivating.”
Lyra Valkyria gets a huge win after saving Becky Lynch on WWE RAW
On the latest episode of WWE RAW, Lyra Valkyria came to Becky Lynch’s aid as she was attacked by Damage CTRL after Liv Morgan left her alone. Valkyria chose to help her former WWE NXT rival.
After assisting Lynch, Lyra Valkyria made her main roster debut in a match. She was selected by the red brand in the WWE draft and faced Dakota Kai in the first round of the Queen of the Ring tournament. Not only did Valkyria make a statement by coming to Becky Lynch’s aid, but she also defeated Dakota Kai and advanced to round two of the tournament.
