WWE Superstar CM Punk’s latest appearance on RAW has triggered former World Heavyweight Champion Drew McIntyre. Ahead of WWE RAW, it was announced that Drew McIntyre is not medically cleared to compete. This led to McIntyre being pulled from the King of the Ring tournament. McIntyre, who was scheduled to face Finn Balor on WWE RAW, was replaced by Jey Uso.
During the Jey Uso and Finn Balor match, Drew McIntyre did make an appearance despite not being medically cleared. However, despite the distraction, Jey Uso still managed to defeat Finn Balor and advance into the King of the Ring tournament.
After Jey Uso’s victory, Drew McIntyre appeared unhappy as he confronted RAW General Manager Adam Pearce backstage. McIntyre argued with Adam Pearce about not being cleared. Pearce pointed out that it was McIntyre’s fault for admitting his arm was injured in the first place. Drew McIntyre angrily left in his car.
Shortly after Drew left, CM Punk arrived. Punk then made his way to the ring, where he called out Drew McIntyre, who had just departed the show. Punk not only called out McIntyre but also took shots at him. While Drew McIntyre did not face CM Punk on WWE RAW and left the show, he did send a message to Punk by posting a video on Twitter of burning a signed photo of CM Punk.
CM Punk took a swipe jab at AEW on WWE RAW
CM Punk made an appearance on the latest edition of WWE RAW to confront Drew McIntyre but couldn’t come face to face with him. During his promo, Punk called out McIntyre and also took a swipe at AEW. In his promo, Punk asked Drew if he hates him or if he hates himself, and referred to him as a choke artist, but clarified that it’s not like how he’s a one-choke artist.
Fans might recall a few weeks ago when AEW showcased backstage footage of CM Punk and Jack Perry’s altercation, where Punk put Perry in a guillotine choke. It appears that Punk, while addressing Drew McIntyre in his promo, also decided to take a jab at AEW.
