Jim Ross Discusses Stone Cold’s WWE WrestleMania 40 Absence

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has recently revealed a potential reason for Stone Cold Steve Austin missing WrestleMania 40. The WrestleMania 40 night two main event featured a lineup of WWE stars such as The Usos, Solo Sikoa, Seth Rollins, The Undertaker, The Rock, and John Cena. Despite rumors of Stone Cold’s appearance, he did not attend the event.

Austin’s close friend and AEW commentator Jim Ross shared his perspective on why Austin didn’t appear at WrestleMania 40. Speaking on his podcast Grilling JR, Jim Ross mentioned that a financial agreement between WWE and Stone Cold could have been the reason for his absence.

He stated, “I haven’t talked to Steve in several weeks, but I’m assuming that, if I was guessing, and that’s all it would be right now, as I sit here in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, I would say that cash had a major role in why Austin was not at WrestleMania this year. Because there was a spot at the end where all those guys were getting their flowers, props, attaboys, and stuff over et cetera, et cetera that would have fit Steve perfectly.”

Even though WWE had hinted at Stone Cold’s potential appearance at WrestleMania 40, reports indicated that Stone Cold and WWE could not reach a financial agreement.

The Undertaker took Stone Cold’s spot at WWE WrestleMania 40

Following the conclusion of WWE WrestleMania 40, many fans are hailing the main event as one of the greatest in WrestleMania history. The recent matches involving Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes have been packed with surprises, including appearances by The Usos, Solo Sikoa, Seth Rollins, The Rock, John Cena, and The Undertaker, creating an electrifying atmosphere in the stadium.

Initially, WWE had teased Stone Cold’s appearance, but due to a financial disagreement between WWE and Stone Cold, The Undertaker stepped in and made a return, delivering a chokeslam to The Rock.
