AEW star Will Ospreay has broken his silence on the recent jab at WWE’s chief content officer, Triple H. A few weeks ago, during a promo segment on AEW Dynamite, Ospreay took a massive shot at Triple H’s comments about the grind.
During the post-show press conference, Will Ospreay was asked about the comments on Triple H. He stated, “I can remember a generation of when I grew up where like, you throw a jab, I throw one back. Although I wasn’t mentioned by name, it was clearly about me. All due respect, I’m kind of done mentioning anyone over there now. I don’t want to do that anymore because I feel I lowered myself to that standard. I don’t need to do that anymore. Look what I just did in the ring with Bryan.”
He continued, “That’s only match two from pay-per-view. I’ve got a fu*kload more to go down. With all due respect, if you take everything into consideration, of course, I’m annoyed about a jab that I took. I threw one back; I don’t think it was anything bad. It’s a joke from 20 years ago, for fu*k sake. Don’t be too butthurt. “
What did Triple H say about AEW star Will Ospreay?
A few weeks ago, while promoting WWE WrestleMania 40, Triple H appeared on the Pat McAfee Show. Triple H indirectly took a shot at Will Ospreay when asked about what he wants to see in talents.
He stated, “I see what’s out there. I don’t subscribe to, ‘this guy says they are good, that guy says they are good.’ I have to see it… Because they succeed someplace else doesn’t mean they’ll succeed at the big time. When I see people coming out of trying to make it, and then they pick a job where, well, they work less, the schedule is lighter, then I’m like, ‘I’m glad I didn’t pick you.’ If you’re not in it for the grind, at that point early in your career, you have no business being here.”
After reports emerged that WWE talents became unhappy with Triple H for letting Ospreay go to AEW, Triple H made his comments.
