Cody Rhodes Addresses Stone Cold’s WWE WrestleMania 40 Role

WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes recently addressed Stone Cold Steve Austin’s WWE WrestleMania 40 appearances. Rhodes defeated Roman Reigns at WWE WrestleMania 40, ending Reigns’ record-breaking title reign of 1316 days.

The main event of WWE WrestleMania 40 night two involved numerous WWE superstars. The match featured The Usos, Solo Sikoa, Seth Rollins, The Undertaker, The Rock, and John Cena. However, there was one more name rumored for an appearance – Stone Cold. WWE had also teased his appearance. It was reported that Stone Cold and WWE couldn’t reach a financial agreement for an appearance at WrestleMania 40. This led to The Undertaker taking his spot.

Cody Rhodes recently discussed Stone Cold’s absence from WWE WrestleMania 40 during an appearance on the Sports Illustrated podcast. Rhodes expressed his admiration for Stone Cold’s immense impact and lasting legacy in professional wrestling. He acknowledged Stone Cold’s role as one of the most profitable and influential wrestlers of his era, particularly during the iconic Attitude Era.

While Stone Cold’s appearance would have been great, the appearances of John Cena and The Undertaker blew the roof off the stadium.
