Matt Hardy Addresses Jeff Hardy’s Scary Injury at AEW Rampage

Matt Hardy has broken his silence regarding the scary injury suffered by Jeff Hardy during an AEW Rampage taping, immediately following AEW Dynamite at the H-E-B Center in Cedar Park, Texas. During a match against Sammy Guevara, Hardy appeared to sustain an injury, sparking widespread concern for his well-being.

Speaking on a podcast, Matt Hardy provided an update on Jeff Hardy’s injury, confirming previous reports suggesting that Hardy had indeed suffered a broken nose. He stated, “It looks like the Sammy Guevara – Hardy curse is real and it lives on. We thought it ended in 2020, but it picked right back up in February 2024.They were having a hell of a match. It’s going to air on Rampage tonight. There’s a point where Sammy does a move and his knee catches Jeff in the face. It definitely rocked Jeff and Jeff for sure has a broken nose. That’s all we really know.”

He continued, “They’re still going to have him undergo some more testing to find out what his total injury is or would be, but right now, at a minimum, it’s a broken nose. We traveled together. We were on the same flight and we flew home. He was in great spirits. It’s funny because he’s never broken his nose before, which is insane to think about. Most pro wrestlers, breaking your nose is a pretty standard thing. It happens at some point, especially if you’ve wrestled for three decades like we have. I felt so bad for him because he had a nice nose and now it’s all crooked and jimmied like mine is now. So welcome to the broken nose club, brother.”

Matt Hardy was upset following the Jeff Hardy injury incident

In a recent match between Jeff Hardy and Sammy Guevara, tensions escalated when Guevara attempted a Shooting Star Press from the top turnbuckle, inadvertently colliding his knee into Hardy’s head as Hardy defended himself by raising his knees. This incident raised concerns as Hardy seemed to suffer an injury due to the collision. Adding to the intensity, Matt Hardy, Jeff’s brother, expressed his displeasure by flipping off Guevara after the match.

The situation was further complicated by Matt Hardy’s own history with Guevara. In previous encounters, Matt endured two significant injuries at the hands of Guevara. In one instance, Guevara threw a chair, causing Matt to require 13 stitches. Additionally, during another match at All Out, Guevara speared Matt off a forklift truck, leading to a frightening impact as Matt hit the concrete after missing the tables below.

Recently, Matt Hardy posted a video on Instagram where Jeff revealed his upcoming concert performance in Kentucky on February 23, 2024. It will be interesting to see when he returns to in-ring action.
