AEW Star Chris Jericho Declines To Face Adam Copeland

In a surprising turn of events, AEW superstar Chris Jericho has made it clear that he has no interest in facing Adam Copeland, aka Edge. The two wrestling icons, who previously were in the same promotion during their tenure in WWE, have found themselves once again in the same wrestling promotion in 2023. However, it appears that Chris Jericho is not interested in facing the WWE Hall of Famer.

Jericho, currently teaming up with Kenny Omega as the formidable Golden Jets, is set to face AEW tag team champions Ricky Starks and Big Bill at Worlds End. Meanwhile, Adam Copeland is engaged in a heated rivalry with his best friend, Christian Cage. Cage defeated him last week on Dynamite with the help of Nick Cage’s mother to retain the TNT Championship.

In an interview with the Dallas Morning News, Chris Jericho talked about his preferences for future wrestling opponents. He explained that there’s no hurry for him to decide and mentioned that he’s not eager to have matches against wrestlers like Adam Copeland and Christian Cage, even though they could still have great matches.

Jericho expressed interest in wrestling newcomers, highlighting Swerve Strickland and Mark Briscoe as exciting potential opponents he hasn’t faced before.

Jericho and Kenny Omega are teaming up to challenge Ricky Starks and Big Bill for the AEW tag team championship. It’ll be exciting to see if Jericho and Omega, former rivals, can become the new tag team champions.

Have Chris Jericho and Adam Copeland crossed paths in AEW?

Chris Jericho and Adam Copeland are both part of AEW. Jericho has recently mentioned that he’s not interested in facing Copeland in a match. Despite Jericho’s statement, it raises the question of whether these two stars have crossed paths or interacted in AEW.

Yes, indeed! After his surprising debut at the AEW WrestleDream PPV, Adam Copeland appeared for the first time on the following episode of Dynamite, encountering Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho. During this encounter, Copeland wished Jericho good luck for his match and mentioned that it’s always good to see him.

While Chris Jericho has expressed no interest in facing Adam Copeland in AEW, they did compete against each other in WWE at WrestleMania XXVI for the World Heavyweight Championship. In that match, Jericho emerged victorious by defeating Copeland.
