Watch a Preview of Tonight’s The Blacklist

The Blacklist returns to NBC tonight with a two-hour episode

James Spader, Megan Boone, Harry Lenix, Diego Klattnehoff and more return in a two-hour episode of NBC‘s The Blacklist. The event kicks off 9/8c on NBC. Red Reddington (Spader) is back to his tricks, but as we learn in a new video from Sony Pictures Television, things aren’t really what they were for our “hero.” The official description for the episode is as follows: “Red Reddington (James Spader) returns to face his day of reckoning when The Blacklist returns in a 2-hour event.”

For decades, ex-government agent Raymond “Red” Reddington has been one of the FBI’s most wanted fugitives. After brokering shadowy deals for criminals across the globe for years, he’s now mysteriously surrendered to the FBI with an explosive offer: he will help them catch an entire “blacklist” of politicians, mobsters, spies and international terrorists but only under the condition that he works exclusively with Elizabeth “Liz” Keen, an FBI profiler fresh out of Quantico. Red will teach Liz to think like a criminal and “see the bigger picture”… whether she wants to or not.

The Blacklist premiered on September 23, 2013 and is now in its fourth season on NBC. A spin-off series, The Blacklist: Redemption, premiered on February 23, 2017, which put The Blacklist on a hiatus. Here is the info for the new series: “In the thrilling new spinoff, the world’s most elusive criminals from Red’s infamous list come together to form an elite mercenary team as they try to regain their self-worth after a lifetime of inflicting damage on the world. Seeking redemption for their past transgressions, this new group solves problems governments don’t dare touch. Blacklist undercover operative Tom Keen (Ryan Eggold) joins the team’s brilliant and cunning chief, Susan “Scottie” Hargrave (Janssen), as well as lethal assassin and Tom nemesis Matias Solomon (Edi Gathegi), as they aim to be a force for good and right dangerous wrongs. Along with highly skilled members Nez Rowan (Tawny Cypress) and hacker Dumont (Adrian Martinez), they will undertake seemingly impossible missions — all in the hopes of repairing their damaged souls.”
