HBO Releases Two New Westworld Videos

Explore the world of the new HBO series with two new Westworld videos

HBO has debuted two new Westworld videos and they both offer looks at the channel’s new sci-fi series based on the 1973 Michael Crichton film. The first takes the form of a featurette. Offering lots of new footage, it also offers brief insight from the series’ major players both behind and in front of the camera. The second of the two Westworld videos is a brief promo that focuses on two of the series’ central characters: Thandie Newton’s Maeve Millay and Evan Rachel Wood’s Dolores Abernathy. Both are artificially generated for the show’s theme park environment and neither are aware that they’re robots (or, as they’re called in the show, Hosts).

In addition to the two new Westworld videos, HBO has revealed a new poster for the series. The poster was released as part of the series’ viral campaign (to which you can play along at Discover Westworld) and is viewable in the gallery viewer below.

The one-hour drama series offers a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the evolution of sin. Set at the intersection of the near future and the reimagined past, it explores a world in which every human appetite, no matter how noble or depraved, can be indulged.

The cast also includes Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, James Marsden, Jeffrey Wright, Tessa Thompson, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Jimmi Simpson, Rodrigo Santoro, Shannon Woodward, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Ben Barnes, Simon Quarterman, Angela Sarafyan, Luke Hemsworth and Clifton Collins, Jr.

The series is inspired by the motion picture Westworld, written and directed by Michael Crichton. Westworld is produced by Bad Robot Productions, Jerry Weintraub Productions and Kilter Films in association with Warner Bros. Television. The series is executive produced, written and directed by Jonathan Nolan, executive produced and written by Lisa Joy, and executive produced by J.J. Abrams, Jerry Weintraub, Bryan Burk.

Westworld is set to air for 10 episodes this fall and will premiere on Sunday, October 2 at 9 PM ET.
