HBO Max has finally released the official trailer for The Pitt Season 2, the upcoming next chapter to its award-winning medical drama led by ER alum Noah Wyle as Dr. Robby. The series is scheduled to make its return on January 8, 2026.

What happens in The Pitt Season 2 trailer?
The video brings viewers back to Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center’s emergency room, ten months after the events of the Season 1 finale. It highlights the challenges that Dr. Robby’s crew will have to face during one of the most chaotic holidays of the year. The trailer also teases Langdon’s first day back at work after coming back from rehab. In addition to the returning cast, the video also welcomes several new faces to the Pitt, including Sepideh Moafi as the newest attending physician, Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi.
The Pitt was created by showrunner R. Scott Gemmill, who is executive producing with Wyle. The new season also stars returning cast members Fiona Dourif as McKay, Patrick Ball as Langdon, Katherine LaNasa as Dana Evans, Taylor Dearden as Mel King, Gerran Howell as Whitaker, Isa Briones as Santos, Shawn Hatosy as Abbot, Amielynn Abellera as Perlah, Kristin Villanueva as Princess, Jalen Thomas Brooks as Mateo Diaz, Ayesha Harris as Ellis, Ken Kirby as Shen, and more. Season 3 will also introduce new characters, portrayed by Lawrence Robinson, Charles Baker, Irene Choi, Laëtitia Hollard, Lucas Iverson, Zack Morris, Brittany Allen, Bonita Friedericy, Taylor Handley, Jeff Kober, Meta Golding, Luke Tennie, Christopher Thornton, and Travis Van Winkle.
For his leading performance in the first installment, Wyle won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. He’s also currently nominated for a Golden Globe award for Best Actor. Season 1 also won four more Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Casting, Outstanding Supporting Actress for LaNasa, and Outstanding Guest Actor for Hatosy.
