The video offers viewers a first look at the new 456 players chosen to participate in the intense competition, based on Emmy-winning creator Hwang Dong-hyuk’s popular South Korean survival thriller series. Just like the first one, the new installment will also feature games inspired by the second and final season of the original show. It also teases the multiple massive sets that will be featured in the new season.
Squid Game: The Challenge is executive-produced by Nicola Brown, Tim Harcourt, John Hay, Anna Kidd, Stephen Lambert, Nick Walker, Nia Yemoh, and Stephen Yemoh. It hails from Studio Lambert (The Circle) and The Garden (part of ITV Studios). Before Season 2’s release, it was confirmed that the show had already secured a third season renewal.
“456 brand-new contestants will enter the ultimate test of strategy, alliances, and endurance as they compete for a life-changing $4.56 million prize,” reads the synopsis. “Inspired by the iconic original series – with shocking new twists and never-before-seen games – season two raises the stakes higher than ever. As players face elimination at every turn, only one can emerge victorious. New players. New games. New rules.”
