Wednesday & Several Hit Netflix Shows Not Returning Until 2025

Some of Netflix’s hottest shows will not be returning until 2025, according to new reporting from Deadline.

Due to the scheduling fallout from the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes of 2023, Wednesday Season 2 is not expected to return in 2024. The hit horror dramedy starring Jenna Ortega will begin filming in Ireland this coming April.

Stranger Things Season 5, which will be the show’s last, began production in January. But it will also miss out on 2024, marking another three-year gap between seasons.

Among the long list of other Netflix shows that won’t be back this year are Sweet Magnolias, Ginny & Georgia, and Virgin River. Though none of the three romantic dramas require extensive post-production, other factors, such as weather, come into play.

One Piece, The Lincoln Lawyer, The Watcher, XO Kitty, and The Recruit are likewise not expected back in 2024.

So, which Netflix shows are returning?

Although several major and other popular Netflix Originals seem poised to skip 2024, returning titles include mega hits like Squid Game, Bridgerton, The Night Agent, Cobra Kai, Emily In Paris, That ’90s Show, and The Diplomat.
