The Gold Trailer Previews Paramount+ Debut for UK Heist Series

Paramount+ has dropped The Gold trailer for the upcoming U.S. debut of BBC One’s heist drama, based on the iconic true story of the Brink’s-Mat robbery. The video teases the aftermath of Britain’s biggest gold heist in history which follows a decades-long investigation.

The 6-episode series was first released in the U.K. last February. It is now scheduled to arrive on Paramount+ on September 17.

Who’s the Cast of The Gold

The Gold is directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Aneil Karia and Lawrence Gough from a screenplay written by Neil Forsyth. It stars Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey), Jack Lowden (Slow Horses), Dominic Cooper (The Preacher), Charlotte Spencer (The Duke), Tom Cullen (Black Mirror), Emun Elliott (Guilt, Old), Sean Harris (Mission: Impossible), Ellora Torchia (Midsommar), and Stefanie Martini (The Last Kingdom).

“They were looking for £1 million,” reads the synopsis. “They found £26 million. Inspired by the biggest gold heist in Britain’s history, The Gold tells the story of the 1983 Brink’s Mat robbery that kicked off decades of investigation, corruption, arrests, and murder as the police tried to identify the criminals and recover the gold.”

The series is executive produced by Forsyth and Ben Farrell for Tannadice Pictures, Tommy Bulfin for BBC, and Kate Laffey and Claire Sowerby-Sheppard for VIS, with Charlie Leech serving as a producer.
