Amazon Studios has released The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart teaser trailer for the upcoming series adaptation of Holly Ringland’s novel of the same name. The limited drama will be available for streaming on August 4, exclusively on Prime Video.

The video features Sigourney Weaver’s June Hart as she becomes her granddaughter’s sole guardian after Alice loses her parents in a fire. It teases the family secrets that June have kept from Alice, who will eventually learns about them as she gets older.

What’s The Lost of Flowers of Alice Hart about?

“The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart tells the compelling story of a young girl, Alice Hart, whose violent childhood casts a dark shadow over her adult life,” reads the synopsis. “After a family tragedy in which she loses both her abusive father and beloved mother in a mysterious fire, 9-year-old Alice is taken to live with her grandmother June on a flower farm, where she learns that there are secrets within secrets about her and her family’s past.”

“Set against Australia’s breathtaking, natural landscape, and with native wildflowers and plants providing a way to express the inexpressible, this enthralling family drama spans decades, as Alice grows from a child into a woman. Her journey is epic and visceral, building to an emotional climax as Alice finds herself fighting for her life against a man she loves.”

The seven-part adaptation is executive produced and written by showrunner Sarah Lambert, with Glendyn Ivin serving as a director. Joining Weaver are Fear the Walking Dead’s Alycia Debnam-Carey, Asher Keddie, Leah Purcell, Frankie Adams, Alexander England, Charlie Vickers, Tilda Cobham-Hervey, and Alyla Browne.

Executive producers are Weaver, Ivin, Jodi Matterson, Bruna Papandrea, Steve Hutensky, and Lucinda Reynolds, with Barbara Gibbs as a producer. Kirsty Fisher and Kim Wilson are also on-board as writers.
