The official Mrs. Davis trailer for Peacock‘s upcoming sci-fi dramedy has been released, featuring Betty Gilpin as a nun fighting against an A.I. that has taken over a number of people. The series will be available for streaming on April 20 with the first four episodes, which will be followed by new episodes airing weekly on Thursdays.

Mrs. Davis is written and executive produced by Damon Lindelof (Watchmen) and Tara Hernandez (Young Sheldon), with the latter set as its showrunner. Executive producers are Owen Harris and Alethea Jones, who have also each directed multiple episodes. It hails from Warner Bros. Television.

The series is being described as an “exploration of faith versus technology — an epic battle of biblical and binary proportions.” Betty Gilpin will playing Simone, a nun who goes to battle against an all-powerful Artificial Intelligence. She will be joined by Jake McDorman as Simone’s rebellious ex, who also has a personal vendetta against the Algorithm.

Additional cast also includes Andy McQueen, Ben Chaplin, Margo Martindale, David Arquette, Elizabeth Marvel, Katja Herbers, Chris Diamantopoulo, Ashley Romans, Tom Wlaschiha, and Mathilde Ollivier.

This marks Gilpin’s second collaboration with Lindelof after working together on the controversial 2020 film The Hunt, which was co-written by the acclaimed TV creator. Gilpin gained recognition for her acclaimed role as Debbie Eagan in Netflix’s GLOW, which earned her three Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress.
