Keep Breathing Trailer: Melissa Barrera Gets Stranded in Netflix Miniseries

Netflix has released an official trailer for Keep Breathing, its upcoming survival drama miniseries starring Scream actress Melissa Barrera. The series is scheduled to make its debut on Thursday, July 28.

The video, which you can check out below, features a woman who, after surviving a plane crash, must now try to keep herself alive in the middle of the Canadian wilderness. It also teases the things she’ll do in order to survive. As she battles exhaustion and desperation, she recalls different moments of her life, including the happy ones and the painful ones.

The limited series is written and created by Martin Gero and Brendan Gall, who are also set as showrunners. Joining Barrera are Jeff Wilbusch, Austin Stowell, Juan Pablo Espinosa, and Florencia Lozano.

“After her private plane crashes in the remote Canadian frontier, lone survivor and New York lawyer, Liv, must battle both an unforgiving wilderness and past personal traumas to stay alive,” reads the synopsis.

Keep Breathing is directed by Maggie Kiley and Rebecca Rodriguez. It is produced by Warner Bros. Television, with Kiley, Gero, and Gall serving as executive producers.

Barrera first gained recognition for her leading role as Lyn Hernandez in the Starz series Vida. She landed her first major Hollywood feature with Jon M. Chu’s musical drama In the Heights. The Mexican actress most recently starred in the fifth installment of Scream, and will be reprising her role as Sam Carpenter in the follow-up sequel.
