Ms. Marvel Episode 2 Clips Show Kamala Learning About Her Powers

Marvel Studios has released two new clips from the upcoming second episode of Ms. Marvel, which is directed by Meera Menon from a screenplay written by Kate Gritmon. It is scheduled to premiere tomorrow, June 15.

The clips, which you can check out below, both feature Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan as she tries to learn more about her powers. The first clip shows Kamala secretly calling her grandmother, who tells her that the mysterious bangle actually comes from her great-grandmother. Meanwhile, the second clip gives us a preview of the titular hero’s training montage.

Ms. Marvel stars newcomer Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan, marking the live-action debut of the fan-favorite Marvel character. Joining Vellani are Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Naki, Azher Usman, Travina Springer, and Nimra Bucha.

“The series introduces Kamala Khan—a 16-year-old Pakistani American from Jersey City,” reads the official synopsis. “An aspiring artist, an avid gamer, and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, she is a huge fan of the Avengers—and one in particular, Captain Marvel. But Kamala has always struggled to find her place in the world—that is, until she gets superpowers like the heroes she’s always looked up to.”

Ms. Marvel is directed by executive producers Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah, Meera Menon, and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, with executive producer Bisha K. Ali serving as head writer.

Following the series, Vellani’s teen hero will next be seen in Nia DaCosta’s Captain Marvel sequel, titled The Marvels, starring opposite Brie Larson and Teyonah Parris, which is currently set for a July 28, 2023 release.
