Netflix has released the official Pieces of Her trailer for the upcoming series adaptation of Karin Slaughter’s dramatic thriller novel of the same name. Starring Emmy winner Toni Collette and Bella Heathcote, it will be available for streaming on March 4.
The video features a woman who unravels the truth about her mother’s real identity following a traumatic event that completely changes her view of her mother, who surprisingly took down a shooter with such ease.

Pieces of Her marks Collette’s latest collaboration with Netflix after starring in the Wanderlust film and in Unbelievable, which she had earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress in a limited series.

“Set in a sleepy Georgia town, a random act of violence sets off an unexpected chain of events for 30-year-old Andy Oliver and her mother Laura,” reads the synopsis. “Desperate for answers, Andy embarks on a dangerous journey across America, drawing her towards the dark, hidden heart of her family.”
Joining Collette and Heathcote are Jessica Barden, Jacob Scipio, Joe Dempsie, Aaron Jeffery, Omari Hardwick, Gil Birmingham, David Wenham, Calum Worthy, Nicholas Burton, and Terry O’Quinn.

The 8-episode series is directed by Minkie Spiro from a screenplay adapted by Charlotte Stoudt. Executive producers are Lesli Linka Glatter, Bruna Papandrea, Karin Slaughter, Janice Williams, Casey Haver, and Made Up Stories’ Steve Hutensky.
The Pieces of Her novel was first published in 2018 by bestselling author Karin Slaughter, who is known for writing crime novels such as Cop Town, Pretty Girls, and The Good Daughter.
