The Man Who Fell to Earth Teaser: Chiwetel Ejiofor Leads Sci-Fi Series

Showtime has revealed the first teaser for the upcoming series adaptation of The Man Who Fell to Earth, based on Walter Tevis’ 1963 sci-fi novel of the same name. The video, which you can check out below, features Chiwetel Ejiofor as his character gets sent to Earth for a mission that will somehow involve Naomie Harris’ character. It is scheduled to make its debut sometime this spring.

The Man Who Fell to Earth stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Naomie Harris, Jimmi Simpson, Clarke Peters, Rob Delaney, Sonya Cassidy, Joana Ribeiro, Annelle Olayele, Kale Mulgrew, and Josh Herdman. The novel was first adapted into a film in 1976, where it was led by David Bowie in his first starring role in a feature film.

“An alien who arrives on Earth at a turning point in human evolution and must confront his own past to determine our future,” reads the logline.

The series is created, executive produced, and written by Alex Kurtzman and Jenny Lumet. Executive producers are Rola Bauer, Tim Halkin, Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly, Heather Kadin, and Aaron Baiers.

The Man Who Fell to Earth is being co-produced by CBS Television Studios and TANDEM Productions, a STUDIOCANAL Company, in association with Secret Hideout and Timberman/Beverly. STUDIOCANAL owns the rights for both Walter Tevis’ book as well as the iconic Nicolas Roeg film with David Bowie.
