Kristen Bell Leads Netflix’s New Dark Comedy Miniseries

Netflix has released the first teaser for the upcoming dark comedy limited series titled The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window, starring Kristen Bell. The series will be available for streaming on January 28, 2022.

The video, which you can check out below, features a heartbroken woman who’s drowning her sorrows with alcohol and prescription pills. Because of this, she experiences multiple psychotic breaks where she hallucinates certain moments that might just be repressed memories. This includes potentially witnessing a murder.

The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window is described as a dark comedy psychological thriller created by Rachel Ramras, Hugh Davidson, and Larry Dorf, who are serving as showrunners.

“For heartbroken Anna (Kristen Bell), every day is the same,” reads the synopsis. “She sits with her wine, staring out the window, watching life go by without her. But when a handsome neighbor (Tom Riley) and his adorable daughter (Samsara Yett) move in across the street, Anna starts to see a light at the end of the tunnel. That is until she witnesses a gruesome murder… Or did she?”

The limited series will be led by Kristen Bell in her first scripted series after over a year since the series finale of the acclaimed comedy A Good Place in 2020. Joining her are Tom Riley and Samsara Yett, Michael Ealy, Mary Holland, Shelley Hennig, Cameron Britton, Christina Anthony, and Benjamin Levy Aguilar.
