Panic Trailer Previews Amazon's Newest Teen Thriller Drama

Amazon Prime Video has released the official Panic trailer for their upcoming teen thriller drama series adaptation of creator Lauren Oliver’s YA novel. The video features a group of high school seniors as they prepare to participate in the annual titular game which consists of a number of dangerous challenges including getting buried alive, and jumping off a cliff. The winner of Panic will be taking home $50,000 which will help them build a new life outside of their small town. The series will be available for streaming on May 28. Based on Lauren Oliver’s New York Times best-selling young adult novel, Panic takes place in a small Texas town, where every summer the graduating seniors compete in a series of challenges, winner takes all, which they believe is their one and only chance to escape their circumstances and make their lives better. But this year, the rules have changed — the pot of money is larger than ever and the game has become even more dangerous. The players will come face to face with their deepest, darkest fears and be forced to decide how much they are willing to risk in order to win.

The series will be led by Olivia Welch (Fear Street) as Heather Nill, who is a talented writer, but she knows that in real life, you can’t imagine yourself to a happy ending. A self-proclaimed pragmatist, she intends to go through her accounting certification, in the hopes of building a stable life as soon as possible.

She will be joined by Jessica Sula (SPLIT) as Natalie Williams, Mike Faist (West Side Story) as Dodge Mason, Ray Nicholson (Now is Everything) as Ray Hall, Camron Jones (Grown-ish) as Bishop Moore, Enrique Murciano (Bloodline) as Sheriff Cortez, Moira Kelly (One Tree Hill) as Laura Cortez, Nancy McKeon (The Facts of Life) as Jessica Mason, and Rachel Bay Jones (Dear Evan Hansen) as Sherri Nill.

Panic is created, written by and executive produced by Lauren Oliver and executive produced by Joe Roth, Jeff Kirschenbaum, and Adam Schroeder. Lynley Bird and Alyssa Altman serve as co-executive producers. Panic is produced by Amazon Studios.
