Muppets Haunted Mansion: Disney+ Sets Halloween Special For Fall

Disney+ has announced the release of the Muppets‘ first-ever Halloween special titled Muppets Haunted Mansion, which will premiere exclusively on the streamer sometime this fall. The announcement came with a newly released video which you can check out below, featuring Gonzo and Pepe the King Prawn as they invite everyone to watch the special, describing it as an all-new terrifying tale of total scariness. It also features a funny scene between them where Pepe the King Prawn fails to replicate Gonzo’s thunder effect, whenever he tries to say the title.

This fall prepare for your most hilarious and harrowing Halloween ever with Muppets Haunted Mansion, which will feature a star-studded Muppets cast, celebrity cameos, all-new music and spooky fun for families to enjoy together. The special takes place on Halloween night when Gonzo is challenged to spend one very daring night in the most grim grinning place on Earth, The Haunted Mansion.

The announcement was made today to help celebrate the Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products’ “Halfway to Halloween” event.

The Muppet Show was created and produced by the late Jim Henson where it ran on-air for five seasons from 1976 to 1981. All five seasons are available for streaming on Disney+. In 2004, The Walt Disney Company successfully acquired the rights to Jim Henson’s beloved Muppet characters including Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, for a reported $75 million acquisition deal.
