Star Trek: Picard Season 2 teaser hints at character return

Patrick Stewart narrates over the teaser trailer of Star Trek: Picard Season 2 as a hint of what’s to come on the Paramount+ series. which is now in production. That is answered when John de Lancie’s voice interrupts the narration as his character Q. In a virtual panel, de Lancie confirmed he will appear as Q in Season 2 of Star Trek: Picard when it premieres in 2022!Check out the teaser in the player below!

One of Star Trek’s greatest anti-heroes, Q first appeared on Star Trek: The Next Generation and recently on Star Trek: Lower Decks.

Star Trek: Picard takes place after Star Trek: Next Generation but is not a reboot. Star Trek: Discovery creator Alex Kurtzman described the series as a “very thoughtful, psychological portrait in a lot of ways… Things have changed for [Picard] and changed him in some ways, and yet he is so deeply and fundamentally still Picard.”

For season two, Alex Kurtzman, Akiva Goldsman, Terry Matalas, Michael Chabon, Doug Aarniokoski, Dylan Massin, Patrick Stewart, Heather Kadin, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth serve as executive producers; Aaron Baiers and Kirsten Beyer serve as co-executive producers. Akiva Goldsman and Terry Matalas serve as co-showrunners for season two. The series is produced by CBS Studios in association with Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment.

Returning Star Trek alums include Brent Spiner as Data, Jonathan Del Arco as Hugh the Borg, and Star Trek: Voyager‘s Jeri Ryan as Seven of Nine along with Marina Sirtis as Commander Deanna Troi and Jonathan Frakes as Riker. Picard also features Santiago Cabrera (Big Little Lies), Michelle Hurd (Blindspot), Evan Evagora (Fantasy Island), Alison Pill (The Newsroom), Harry Treadaway (Penny Dreadful), and Isa Briones (American Crime Story: Versace).
