New Quiz Trailer Previews AMC’s New Limited Series

AMC has released a new Quiz trailer for the forthcoming U.S. premiere of Stephen Frears’ three-part limited series, giving us a preview at the 2001’s Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? cheating scandal. Starring Michael Sheen and Sian Clifford, you can check out the video in the player below!

Quiz tells the extraordinary and sensational story of how Charles and Diana Ingram attempted an ‘audacious heist’ on the quiz show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Major Ingram, his wife Diana and an accomplice, Tecwen Whittock, who was sitting in the audience, were accused of cheating their way to a million pounds on what was the most popular game show on earth in 2001. The couple stood trial for conspiring by coughing during the recording to signify the correct answers to the multiple-choice questions posed to the Major by the host, Chris Tarrant.

The series will star Matthew Macfadyen (Pride & Prejudice) as Major Charles Ingram, Sian Clifford (Fleabag) as Diana Ingram, and Michael Sheen (The Queen, Frost/Nixon) as game show host Chris Tarrant. Quiz will be directed by Stephen Frears (A Very English Scandal) from a script written by James Graham (Brexit: An Uncivil War). Dan Winch, William Village, James Graham, Stephen Frears and Left Bank CEO, Andy Harries will be serving as executive producers with Alice Pearse set to produce.

The series is a Left Bank Pictures co-production for ITV and AMC and is distributed by Sony Pictures Television, which also owns and distributes Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? worldwide. Produced by Alice Pearse (Origin, Gregor), and executive produced by Dan Winch (A Very English Scandal, Broadchurch), William Village, James Graham, Stephen Frears, and Left Bank CEO, Andy Harries.

Quiz will premiere on Sunday, May 31, with the second and third episodes airing on Sunday, June 7, and Sunday, June 14, respectively. The full series will also be available to binge on AMC Premiere beginning Sunday, May 31.
