HBO’s Run promo: What to expect in the weeks ahead
Following the series debut of Run last night, HBO has revealed the promo reel for the remaining six episodes of executive producer Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s new rom-com thriller series, teasing the real reason why Domhnall Gleeson’s Billy suddenly decided to leave his life behind. The video also teases upcoming appearance of Waller-Bridge’s character. Directed by Kate Dennis from a script written by creator Vicky Jones, the new episode titled “Kiss,” is scheduled to air on March 19. Check out the video in the player below!
The new episode’s official synopsis reads: “During their first night aboard, Ruby’s mind is consumed by sex, while Billy probes for personal details she’s reluctant to give up. Comforted by the fact that her husband believes she’s on a weeklong yoga retreat – and determined to make Billy jealous – Ruby brazenly connects with Derek, a stranger on the train. Meanwhile, Billy works to shake a persistent figure from his past.”
Run is a romantic-comedic-thriller series that follows the story of Ruby, a woman living a humdrum existence, who one day gets a text inviting her to fulfill a youthful pact promising true love and self-reinvention by stepping out of her life to take a journey with her oldest flame Billy Johnson. A successful life guru who is born from a wealthy Irish family, Billy has the gift of the gab, deftly combining a boatload of charisma with a boundless need for approval.
The series stars Domhnall Gleeson (About Time) as Billy and Emmy Award-winning actress Meritt Wever (Nurse Jackie, Godless) as Ruby Dixie along with Golden Globe and Emmy winning-actress Waller-Bridge in a recurring role as Flick.
Vicky Jones has created and written the project and will also executive produce alongside Waller-Bridge through their DryWrite banner. The series is being produced by Entertainment One with Emily Leo of Wigwam Films also set to executive produce.
