The Midnight Gospel teaser previews Netflix’s new animated series
Netflix has released the first teaser for Adventure Time creator Pendleton Ward’s adult animated series titled The Midnight Gospel, giving us our first introduction at Ward’s newest weird world where it follows a space-caster named Clancy. The 8-episode first season is scheduled to make its debut on April 20. Check out the video in the player below!
In The Midnight Gospel, traversing trippy worlds inside his multiverse simulator, a space-caster named Clancy explores existential questions about life, death and everything in between as he gets to interview beings living in other worlds by leaving the comfort of his extra-dimensional home. The series is set in a fantastical universe using interview clips from Duncan Trussell’s podcast, Duncan Trussell Family Hour.
The series is co-created by Pendleton Ward and actor-comedian Duncan Trussell.
Currently, Pendleton Ward is also busy working two projects including: a Catbug animated series based on the popular recurring character from Ward and Frederator Studios’ web series Bravest Warriors; and the upcoming four-hour long specials for Cartoon Network’s beloved and award-winning animated series Adventure Time titled Adventure Time: Distant Lands. The revival series will premiere sometime next year on HBO Max.
