Hailee Steinfeld is a woman ahead of her time in new Dickinson trailer
There’s only a few weeks left until the premiere of Apple TV’s comedy period drama Dickinson premieres on the forthcoming streaming service and a new trailer has debuted highlighting more of Hailee Steinfeld’s titular rebel, as well as new looks at Wiz Khalifa’s Death and John Mulaney’s Henry David Thoreau, which can be viewed in the player below!
Dickinson is set during Emily Dickinson’s era with a modern sensibility and tone. It takes viewers into the world of Emily, audaciously exploring the constraints of society, gender, and family from the perspective of a budding writer who doesn’t fit into her own time through her imaginative point of view. Dickinson, written by Alena Smith (The Affair, The Newsroom), is Emily’s coming-of-age story — one woman’s fight to get her voice heard.
It stars Jane Krakowski, Toby Huss, Adrian Enscoe, Anna Baryshnikov, Ella Hunt, John Mulaney, Wiz Khalifa and Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit), who is set to lead the series as iconic poet Emily Dickinson.
David Gordon Green (Pineapple Express, Vice Principals) is set to direct and will also executive produce alongside Smith, Michael Sugar (Spotlight) and Ashley Zalta (Maniac) for Sugar23 Productions, as well as Alex Goldstone for Anonymous Content, and Darlene Hunt (The Big C). The series hails from Paul Lee’s independent studio, wiip.
The new series will debut alongside Apple TV+‘s forthcoming shows such as Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon’s The Morning Show, Jason Momoa’s big scale sci-fi series See and Ghostwriter reboot series.
