The upcoming series has a particularly unique premise, by only showing what takes place exclusively within the confines of a police interview suite. This makes for a stripped down, cat-and-mouse drama that will focus on the intense mental showdown between the cop and the suspect in question.

Despite its stripped-down setting, the scope of Criminal will reach across the globe, as the procedural will be comprised of 12 unique stories set in four different countries: France, Spain, Germany and the UK. Each of the 12 episodes, all 45 minutes in length, will be in the local language of the country it takes place in, as well as be written and directed by local creatives.

The France episodes of Criminal will star Margot Bancilhon, Laurent Lucas, Stéphane Jobert, Anne Azoulay, Mhamed Arezki, Nathalie Baye, Jérémie Renier and Sara Giraudeau. While the episodes in Germany will feature Eva Meckbach, Sylvester Groth, Florence Kasumba, Christian Kuchenbuch, Jonathan Berlin, Peter Kurth, Christian Berkel, Deniz Arora and Nina Hoss.

Jorge Bosch, José Ángel Egido, Nuria Mencía, Daniel Chamorro, María Morales, Javi Coll and Milo Taboada will star in the show’s Spain episodes along with Carmen Machi, Inma Cuesta, Eduard Fernández, Emma Suárez and Álvaro Cervantes.
