Vincent D’Onofrio Returning for Daredevil Season 3

Marvel has announced that Vincent D’Onofrio will return as Wilson Fisk, aka The Kingpin, for Marvel’s Daredevil Season 3. D’Onofrio was a main character in the show’s first season and had minor appearances in the second.

“Vincent is an exceptional actor who returns with the incredible gravitas he brings to Fisk,” EP and head of Marvel Television Jeph Loeb said.

D’Onofrio joins returning cast members Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), and Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson).

Erik Oleson (Kings, The Man in the High Castle) will be the new showrunner for the series. This isn’t his first foray into superheroes, having previously written for The CW’s Arrow on a number of episodes. Oleson will be the third new showrunner for the series, replacing Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez, who were co-showrunners on the second season of the series. Steven DeKnight was the showrunner in the inaugural season.

Production on Marvel’s Daredevil Season 3 is set to begin shooting this year and will premiere on Netflix in 2018.

The third season of Marvel’s Daredevil is Executive Produced by series showrunner Erik Oleson and Drew Goddard (The Cabin in the Woods), along with Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. Marvel’s Daredevil is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.

Marvel’s Daredevil Season 2 and Marvel’s The Defenders featured the return of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock (who moonlights as The Man Without Fear), Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Scott Glenn as Stick and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple.
