David Tennant to Return in Marvel’s Jessica Jones Season 2!

Despite a General Zod-like exit from the series in Marvel’s Jessica Jones season one, EW brings word that David Tennant will return as the villain Kilgrave in the upcoming second season of the Netflix series. You can check out a photo Tennant with star Krysten Ritter on the set of the show below.

It remains to be seen exactly how Tennant’s character will factor into the new episodes, but flashbacks or even booze-induced hallucination are certainly in the cards for Jones.

A Netflix original series, Marvel’s Jessica Jones is a suspenseful, edgy look into the life of Jessica Jones, one of the most popular new Marvel characters of the last decade, as she faces demons from within and without. After a tragic ending to her short-lived Super Hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases in New York City.

Krysten Ritter stars as the title hero in the series and was joined in season one by Mike Colter (Luke Cage), Rachael Taylor (Trish Walker), Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, Erin Moriarty, and Wil Traval. Ritter can next be seen as the character in the upcoming Marvel’s The Defenders, which debuts August 18 on Netflix. Golden Globe winner and two-time Academy Award-nominated actress Janet McTeer (Tumbleweeds, Albert Nobbs, Me Before You) joined the series earlier this year in a mystery role that will have a huge impact on the life of Jessica Jones. Other casting additions include Leah Gibson as Ingrid, a street-wise woman trained as a nurse; and J.R. Ramirez Oscar, a devoted single father who moves into Jessica’s building as the new superintendent.

Marvel’s Jessica Jones will return for season two in 2018!
