Gustaf Skarsgard, Fares Fares join Westworld Season 2 as regulars, Betty Gabriel to recur
Two new season regulars and one recurring character have been cast in Season 2 of HBO‘s Westworld. Vikings star Gustaf Skarsgard, Tyrant‘s Fares Fares and Betty Gabriel from Good Girls Revolt have signed on for the show, according to THR. Skarsgard and Fares will be series regulars and Gabriel will recur. HBO released a brand-new trailer for Season 2 at last month’s San Diego Comic-Con. You can check it out in the player below.
Gustaf Skarsgard will play Karl Strand, a “white-collar guy comfortable in the field.” Fares Fares will play Antoine Costa, a “tech expert with an objective perspective.” Gabriel will play Maling who is trying to restore order in the park, which is in chaos after the events of the end of Season 1 of the series. Skarsgard will continue to play Floki on Vikings. The cast of Season 2 will also include new cast members Katia Herbers (The Americans), Neil Jackson (Sleepy Hollow) and Jonathan Tucker (Kingdom).
The series is inspired by the motion picture Westworld, written and directed by Michael Crichton. Westworld is produced by Bad Robot Productions, Jerry Weintraub Productions and Kilter Films in association with Warner Bros. Television. The series is executive produced, written and directed by Jonathan Nolan, executive produced and written by Lisa Joy, and executive produced by J.J. Abrams, Jerry Weintraub, Bryan Burk. Westworld is set to return to HBO in 2018.
In addition to his role in Vikings, Gustaf Skarsgard has also been seen in The Way Back, Evil and Kon-Tiki. Fares plays Fauzi Nadal in Tyrant, and has appeared in Zero Dark Thirty and Safe House. Gabriel is Denise in Good Girls Revolt and has also been seen in The Purge: Election Year and Get Out.
