New Trailer for Veep Season 6 Released by HBO at SXSW

A new trailer Veep season 6 has been released by HBO at SXSW today. The trailer shows former President Selina Meyer (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) appearing on CBS: This Morning, talking about losing the election.”Well this last year has been fun,” she says. “Ya know, really fun! The loss hurt, but I did take this opportunity to reacquaint myself with an old friend of mine by the name of Selina Meyer.” We also see her avoiding landmines in a trip overseas and getting her portrait done. The trailer was shown during a panel with the cast, as well as showrunner David Mandel during the Austin, TX festival. We also learned that Veep season 6 will premiere on April 16, 2017. There are appearances from Gary (Tony Hale) and Congressman Jonah Ryan (Timothy Simmons), to whom Selina says, “I will destroy you in ways that are so creative they will honor me at the Kennedy Center.”

Veep season 6 stars Emmy-winner Louis-Dreyfus as former vice president and president Selina Meyer, as well as Tony Hale, Anna Chlumsky, Reid Scott, Matt Walsh, Timothy Simons, Kevin Dunn, Gary Cole and Sam Richardson. Dave Mandel, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Frank Rich, Lew Morton and Morgan Sackett executive produce.

Veep has been nominated five years in a row for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series, which it won for season 4 and season 5. Julia Louis-Dreyfus has won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series five times in a row for her role in the show.
