Will We See a Green Lantern Arrow TV Crossover?

New art suggests that a Green Lantern Arrow season four appearance could be in the works

The above artwork (which can also be viewed full size in the gallery viewer below) was just released online by Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim and, as DC Comics fans well know, it teases a potential upcoming Green Lantern Arrow crossover for the hit DC Comics series. Coast City is famously the fictional home of Hal Jordan, better known as the Green Lantern of Sector 2814, and the faux city’s advertising tagline even incorporates elements of the Green Lantern oath.

This isn’t the first time that the show has hinted at a Green Lantern Arrow crossover somewhere down the line. In season three, we saw references to Ferris Aircraft and a missing pilot (presumably Jordan). It was earlier this summer, however, that Guggenheim himself suggested that seeing Jordan on the series might be a pipe dream.

“They announced the ‘Green Lantern Corps’ movie,” Guggenheim said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, “and I’d be surprised if it didn’t include Hal Jordan. It would be great [to see him on ‘Arrow’], but I doubt it very much.”

Even if things haven’t changed on the Hal Jordan front, however, that doesn’t mean that we won’t see Carol Ferris or even other Green Lanterns. It has been made clear that Arrow season four will be making efforts to expand the size and scope of the small screen DC Universe and it has already been confirmed that “Constantine” star Matt Ryan will be reprising his role for an upcoming fourth season episode.

“Arrow” stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, Katie Cassidy as Dinah “Laurel” Lance, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, John Barrowman as Malcom Merlyn, with Paul Blackthorne as Detective Lance. The series is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg and Sarah Schechter.

“Arrow” will premiere its fourth season on Wednesday, October 7 at 8:00pm ET/PT.
