New Gotham and Arrow casting announced
EW reports that another character will be making a play for Bruce Wayne’s heart with the addition of “The Goldbergs” star Natalie Alyn Lind as Silver St. Cloud. Created by Steve Englehart and Walt Simonson in 1977, the character has been an on-again, off-again love interest of Batman’s in the source material for some time, though his commitments to being the caped crusader prevented their relationship from blossoming the first time. The “Gotham” version of the character is described as “an ethereal beauty with the pristine manners of a Gotham debutante,” and she’ll have ties to the recently-cast James Frain as Theo Galavan.
Following the earlier report that Echo Kellum had been cast as Curtis Holt aka Mr. Terrific in “Arrow,” CBR brings word that Alexander Calvert of “Bates Motel” and “The Returned” has landed the recurring role of Anarky in the series. Created by Alan Grant and Norm Breyfogle, Anarky was a crusader for lawless justice that had a number of run ins with both Batman and Green Arrow in the comics. For “Arrow,” he is described as follows: “Lonnie Machin (AKA Anarky) is a deranged freelancing criminal who is willing to do whatever it takes to impress a potential employer.”
“Gotham” is an origin story of the great DC Comics super villains and vigilantes, revealing an entirely new chapter that has never been told. From executive producer/writer Bruno Heller (“The Mentalist,” “Rome”), “Gotham” follows one cop’s rise through a dangerously corrupt city teetering on the edge of evil and chronicles the birth of one of the most popular super heroes of our time. The series stars Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue, Sean Pertwee, Robin Lord Taylor, Erin Richards, David Mazouz, Camren Bicondova, Zabryna Guevara, Cory Michael Smith, Victoria Cartagena, Andrew Stewart Jones, and John Doman. “Gotham” will return to FOX on Monday, September 21.
“Arrow” stars Stephen Amell as Oliver Queen, Katie Cassidy as Dinah “Laurel” Lance, David Ramsey as John Diggle, Willa Holland as Thea Queen, Emily Bett Rickards as Felicity Smoak, John Barrowman as Malcom Merlyn, with Paul Blackthorne as Detective Lance, and the recently announced Neal McDonough as big bad Damien Darhk. The series is executive produced by Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg and Sarah Schechter. “Arrow” will premiere its fourth season on Wednesday, October 7 at 8:00pm ET/PT.
