Announced almost exactly a year ago, MTV has today revealed the first image from “The Shannara Chronicles,” based on the international best-selling fantasy novels from author Terry Brooks. Check out the pic in the gallery below!
The image features Ivana Baquero as Eretria, Austin Butler as Wil Ohmsford, and Poppy Drayton as Amberle Elessedil, three elves attempting to keep demons at bay after an enchanted tree begins to die.
MTV and producing partner Sonar Entertainment ordered “The Shannara Chronicles” straight to series with Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath of the Titans) has signed on to direct the first two episodes.
Al Gough and Miles Millar will write and executive produce the series, which is greenlit for 10 episodes. Jon Favreau, Jonathan Liebesman, Terry Brooks and Dan Farah will serve as executive producers.
