STARZ Sets Outlander and Ash vs Evil Dead Comic-Con Panels!

STARZ has just announced that both their hit series “Outlander” and their upcoming “Ash vs Evil Dead” are headed to Comic-Con! The panel for the former will feature cast and creators like Executive Producer Ronald D. Moore, author Diana Gabaldon and actors Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan. “Ash vs Evil Dead,” meanwhile, will bring to Executive Producers and original filmmakers Sam Raimi, Rob Tapert, and Bruce Campbell, plus star Lucy Lawless.

“Ash vs Evil Dead” will have its panel Friday, July 10th in Room 6A between 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. while the “Outlander” panel will be held Saturday, July 11 in Ballroom 20 from 4:00 – 4:45 p.m.

“Outlander” spans the genres of romance, science fiction, history and adventure as it follows Claire Randall, a married WWII combat nurse who mistakenly falls back in time to 1743. As the season continues, Claire and Jamie’s relationship is tested and Claire must reconcile her modern mindset with this 18th century world. Ruthless redcoats, volatile clan politics, and a brutal witch trial force Jamie and Claire to escape to a new home. Just when their life as a married couple begins to take shape, Jamie is once again drawn into Captain Randall’s darkness. Ultimately, Claire discovers there is a fate worse than death as she struggles to save Jamie’s heart, as well as his soul.

Currently in production in New Zealand, “Ash vs Evil Dead” is the long-awaited follow-up to the classic horror film franchise The Evil Dead and is set to premiere on STARZ in Fall 2015. The 10-episode first season of the half-hour series is executive produced by Raimi, Tapert and Campbell. Craig DiGregorio also serves as executive producer and showrunner.

Campbell will be reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons –personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.

Lucy Lawless (“Salem,” “Spartacus”) stars as Ruby, a mysterious figure who believes Ash is the cause of the Evil outbreaks, Ray Santiago (“Touch,” Meet the Fockers) as Pablo Simon Bolivar, an idealistic immigrant who becomes Ash’s loyal sidekick, Dana DeLorenzo (A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas) as Kelly Maxwell, a moody wild child trying to outrun her past and Jill Marie Jones (“Sleepy Hollow”) as Amanda Fisher, a disgraced Michigan State Trooper set to find our anti-hero Ash and prove his responsibility in the grisly murder of her partner.
