Marvel Entertainment Developing Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Spin-Off

Entertainment Weekly brings word today that Marvel Entertainment is quietly developing a spin-off to their hit TV series “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” Executive producer Jeffrey Bell and writer Paul Zbyszewski are shepherding the series together, though there’s no word on who or what will be the focus.

The magazine does note that, unlike “The Flash” or “Arrow,” there are no plans to incorporate a backdoor pilot into the remaining episodes of Season Two; however, “story elements” for the proposed series are said to be upcoming in future episodes of “S.H.I.E.L.D.” So be on the lookout for possible clues.

Should the spin-off be ordered, it will mark yet another of Marvel’s ventures into television following “Agent Carter” earlier this year and “Marvel’s Daredevil” that will debut tomorrow (along with the other “Defenders” in the next two years).

The spin-off is still not officially ordered by ABC in addition to a third season of “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” so it could be some time before we hear more about what the series could be, but we’re betting on either Mockingbird or Deathlok. Who do you think the spin-off series will focus on? Let us know in the comments.

“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” stars Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson, Ming-Na Wen as Agent Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Grant Ward, Chloe Bennet as Skye, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Jemma Simmons, Nick Blood as Lance Hunter, and Adrianne Palicki as Bobbi Morse.
