July will be a happy month for all Josh Duhamel fans. After the immense success of his western drama TV show Ransom Canyon Season 1, the second season is now streaming on Netflix.
Josh Duhamel’s western drama series returns with Season 2 on Netflix
Season 1 already established the series with a lot of dramatic elements. Now, as the Minka Kelly and Duhamel-led show is coming back to its Texas roots, the storyline is expected to have more complications. According to reports from Tudum, family rivalries and land disputes will become the focal point of the series. The creator of the show, April Blair, summed up the theme for the new season by saying, “Season 2 is really about community, rebuilding … and coming together. There’s definitely a lightness and hopefulness in Season 2.”
Season 2 will take over from where the previous season ends. Ransom Canyon ended with Quinn O’Grady (Minka Kelly) and Staten Kirkland (Josh Duhamel) parting ways as romantic partners. However, as O’Grady comes back to Ransom following a gap of six months, Kirkland is eager to mend things between them. Amidst all this, the situation takes an awkward turn when a third person, Oliver, played by Ben Robson, emerges as a new suitor for O’Grady.
To double the trouble for Kirkland, he is also having a tough time with his father disputing over the Double K Ranch’s future. Speaking about the development, Duhamel stated, “His dad never really took an interest in the ranch. Staten learned everything about the ranch from his grandfather. Sam’s making some dumb decisions.”
Apart from the original Season 1 cast, Ransom Canyon will also have some notable inclusions. Steve Howey and Patricia Clarkson have been added to the show. While Howey will play Kirkland’s half-brother, Clarkson is cast as O’Grady’s mother.
All eight episodes of Ransom Canyon Season 2 are now streaming on Netflix, with each episode being 40+ minutes long.
